PROJECT MANAGER for 6-Month+ Contract in DC



Project Manager to manage one or more projects to develop data masking capabilities in client’s test environments. You will be managing 5-10 full and part time IT professionals in a matrix organization and the projects include full life cycle software development (requirements analysis, design, development, testing, and implementation).

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Adhere and follow the PMO defined Project Management Life Cycle (PMLC) processes.

Support and assist SQA (Software Quality Assurance) activities and processes.

Create and maintain:

  • Project Charter / Initiation Document
  • Project Plan including subsidiary plans for managing requirements, change, testing, communication, implementation, risk, issues, etc.
  • Project Schedule in MS Project
  • Resource Allocation Model and resource Estimate
  • Risk and Issue Logs

Work cooperatively on integrated team to successfully address any associated risks and issues.

Conduct, facilitate and participate in various meetings regarding the coordination of project activities and deliverables.

Manage scope, schedule, budget and quality for the assigned projects.

Ensure that all project milestones are met and deliverables are created with highest quality.

Monitor and control resource utilization per the approved budget.

Prepare monthly financial variance report (actual vs. budget) and provide forecast through the end of the project.

Ensure effective communication within and outside of the project team.

Report status to Program Manager on a regular basis, write status reports and assist Program Manager in preparing and reporting status to Sr. Management.

‘Own’ the assigned project and be on top of all project activities, issues, risks, deliverables, milestones and dependencies.

REQUIREMENTS:

· Minimum 5 years direct project management experience.

· PMP Certification.

· Experience in managing full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) Projects.

· Experience in IT environment (mainframe, infrastructure, Web/Java).

· Excellent knowledge of MS Office 2000 tool set – MS Word, MS Excel, MS Project and MS Visio.

· Health Care Industry experience.
