Looking for work in a new green job?
Asked by Jen
The media keeps on saying that there is a lot of stimulus money going into the creation of new green jobs. What jobs are they talking about?

Best Answer:
1) Yes, the stimulus money is finally making it to the renewable energy industry. 2) The jobs being created are mostly in wind energy and are often higher paying to attract trained employees like wind turbine technicians (wind tech).

The only "green job" out there right now might be flipping veggie burgers at a McDonald's. So-called green jobs are a joke. Just like the supposed new jobs "to build roads". They don't exist. It must be to build the road to nowhere.

I'm in a similar situation. I'd like to know what jobs they are talking about as well. My guess is that they are energy related. I also hear waste-management and recycling type jobs may be more prevalent. I have a Masters in Ecology and have yet to see an abundance of jobs for environmental education or advocacy.
