Which science job should I take?

Should I be offered both, I'll have to decide between these two jobs: 1. Lab assistant for a microbiology lab, 14.8K pa, close to home. Requirement was a few GCSE's and I have a degree so could be a bit basic but would be good experience for going further in micro... 2. Scientist in genetics lab, 20K, further from home, but not too far. Requirement was a degree so would probably be more fulfilled. Would be great experience for a career in genetics. The dilemma is that it's microbiology (I think) I really want to work in, although genetics would be the better long term career choice. Basically, heart says microbiology (but worried about lack of immediate prospects with job 1) and head says genetics and job 2. Any thoughts? Sorry should have mentioned that I'm in Britain so 20K is in £!
