Perhaps, if they do they'll tell you that they will be doing a background check on your credit. I believe you need to sign a waver.

It just depends. Alot of employers now days are checking your credit to see what is on there. It doesnt matter whether it is medical or not. But most creditors and banks now days overlook medical b/c it was a needed expense. They dont really pay attention to past due medical just other major things. Without a high school diploma he might not get that far it depends, but with having a certificate it will. He probably will be able to get a job, just b/c you dont pay your medical bills doesn't mean you shouldn't be able to get a job. He's trying by going to school.

No, I work for the healthcare industry and that has never happened. Doctors usually don't care abou that type of thing, as long as you are able to help them treat their patients they could give two shits about what your debts are.

I am a Medical Assistant. I also owe the hospital money from forever ago. And yes IT shows on my cedit report. However this has NEVER affected my job. or any job I applied for. I would be more worried about the lack of work offered than his credit! Also he will need to get his GED before they release his diploma, at least that was the policy at the school I went to. GOOD LUCK!
