I'm looking to make a career switch to an eco-friendly job, so my conscience will let me sleep. From my research, there seems to be great potential in this field, especially in the Great Lakes region (where I currently reside). I'm open to serious thoughts/insights about this field.

Thom-dot: Bravo! Lots of utilities are looking for eco-minded staffers. Go online and look up companies whose focus is on Renewable Energy and Enviromental issues. Make sure that your resume reflects skills that could translate into a green employer's environment. If you've volunteered with Eco-friendly groups or projects, list those on your resume also under Special Interests. Scout out those employers are Environmental Fairs and Events, and build your contact base for resume submittals. Good Luck!
