How do I start a career in pharmaceutical sales?
Asked by autustle
I am interested in pursuing a career in this field. The only past sales experience I have is in retail sales. I worked as a sales rep. for Rex T.V two and a half years ago. I held this position seven years ago. I graduated a year and a half ago. I earned a degree in Marketing. My G.P.A was around 2.7. Should I attempt to enter this field or try to get some business to business sales experience.

Experience is not as important as who you interview with and how prepared you are. Check out my website:

I started it since (as a rep) I got tons of questions about getting into the business. Now that many of my friends have recently been let go from their jobs, it's turned into more than just getting into the business. Your GPA isn't that big a deal. They look for outgoing people with confidence who have been successful in their prior career (even if it's school). Good luck and I hope the website helps.

If it is what you want to do, then make an application to some of the pharmaceutical houses. You'll never get the job, if you don't ask.

Send your resume to Paramedical companies. Worst thing that will happen is you will not get any interviews. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. And you just might get a job. In the mean time take a job doing something else.
