I got a promotion and need to pass a security clearance based on my driver license. What does this involve?
Asked by Kev
The security clearance is based on my driver's license number. There is no finger printing involved or photgraphing.
For the record, I have never been charged with or convicted of a crime. And I believe my credit history is good if that is even something they are checking.
The job is with the state government, so I'm wondering what they're looking for and if I should be worried about it.

They basically do a background check on you to see what crimes you have committed and yes your credit...sounds like you have nothing to worry about though

I think it might be because if they need you to relocate, or to go to another job site, they can trust you to get it done because they know you are a good driver.

If you say everything is fine...then you have nothing to worry about. The only way they can check your credit is with you SS #..so that shouldn't be a factor...probably more of criminal or driving record
